Fasting to Improve Health

The summer solstice of 2024 has just passed, which means that it's officially summertime!

For me, that means it's time to go on a cleanse.

Fasting isn't the only way to cleanse your body, but I've found it to be the most effective way to boost your health and give you a new lease on life when you're feeling lethargic and sluggish, overweight or out of shape.

I speak from deep personal experience, not just theory because I've successfully executed no less than three extensive juice fasts that each lasted anywhere from 14 to 40 days with zero solid food the whole time.

Our modern cultural programming (which is, by the way, designed to get you hooked on drugs, alcohol and junk food like tens of millions of Americans sadly are) unfortunately conditions us heavily against the practice of fasting.

But there are many examples of it in the Bible as well as in modern-day Islam where huge populations take no water or food from sunrise to sunset for the entire month of Ramadan.

Jesus is said to have fasted in the desert with no food or water for 40 days!

And there is no disputing the fact that heart disease and stroke are BY FAR the biggest preventable causes of death in the world and that both of them result primarily from a bad diet, not enough exercise and inadequate sleep.

While fasting cannot replace exercise or sleep, it can help you lose weight and work wonders on your metabolic finctions, which can greatly assit you in getting more exercise and higher quality sleep.

Regardless of what you believe about fasting and whether you are interested in doing it or not, it's important to understand some facts about it because there is a LOT of disinformation about fasting out there designed to scare you away.

Most of this disinfo is pushed by the medical industry and for the simple reason that if fasting was a common practice in the United States, Americans would have nowhere near as many health probelms as we do.

Doctors, hospital staff, health insurance companies and pharmeceutical companies (the modern drug cartel of the USA) would therefore make a LOT less money because there would be far fewer diseases to treat.

And unfortunately, we live in a very materialistic culture where the average person values money far above their integrity and even their own health.

Most doctors are no exception, despite taking the Hippocratic Oath.

The pharmaceutical industry is well-known for its corruption, working in conjunction with public and private nursing homes to get the elderly well-sedated and unable to function.

I watched my mother die a slow death over several years after getting terribly overweight and suffering multiple strokes.

She wound up in a public nursing home where the doctors and nurses ignored my orders and gave her dangerous, highly addictive synthetic drugs I had not cleared her to receive.

Eventually, I had to pull her out of the hospital and into hospice when her ability to swallow gave out because the administration would not allow my sister and I to vist her on her deathbed during the pandemic.

Thankfully she was able to pass away in my home surround by her family.

But I for one would like to avoid going into a nursing home like she did, so I've decided to make fasting a regular part of my lifestyle.

And if you want to avoid that terrible fate, I suggest you listen up.

Yes, I really do believe in the power of fasting because it has cured me of health conditions that plagued me for decades, that doctors had no clue what to do about.

Fasting allowed me to purge a giant tapeworm from my intestines I didn't even know I had!

Fasting saved my life.

That's the truth of it, which is why I'm a die-hard fasting evangelist.

So let's get into it, shall we?

Why Fast?

It is a fact that digesting food takes up the majority of your body's energy from day to day.

It's also a fact that the simple act of eating causes a slow buildup of toxins and excess fat in your body.

Between these two things, just eating every day all day for decades without any break for your body to recover and clean itself up eventually results in a toxic, overweight body.

This is what causes obesity and aging, my friend.

Winding up with a toxic body in turn clouds your mind, makes you emotionally unstable, increases the likelihood that you'll wind up with mental illness, makes you prone to addictions and can essentially bring total disaster into your life, causing the loss of everything you hold dear including your career, your marriage and your health.

Don't believe me?

Just look at how many divorced, obese guys there are in their forties, fifties and sixties who have lost custody of their kids and suffer in poverty.

They may not know or be willing to admit that their craptastic diet is the primary culprit, but it definitely is.

Men even commit suicide because of these things.

Lots of men

So if you don't have healthy diet, sleep and exercise habits and if you want to avoid the hellscape of the unaddressed midlife crisis, you're gonna have to take drastic action.

Fasting is definitely one way to go about it that can work wonders on your health and vitality and the fatter you are, the more likely it is to be the ticket.

So, why do it?

Fasting can produce the following benefits:

  • Spontaneous remission of "incurable" diseases*
  • Natural activation of your body's stem cells*
  • Transfer of metabolic process to ketosis*
  • Renewed energy and vitality*
  • Reduced inflammation*
  • Rapid weight loss*
  • Cleaner blood*

*Obviously, these statements have not been evaluatied by the FDA or medical industry experts in white lab coats. They merely constitute the unprofessional opinion of a person who experienced all of them. None of them should be considered medical advice. If you choose to fast, you do so at your own risk. I'm not responsible for your choices. Don't blame me if you cause problems for yourself by fasting incorrectly.

But isn't it dangerous?

A cursory Google search will basically tell you that fasting, especially dry fasting without water, is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.

The articles you read will pretend to be unbiased, but will basically tell you that you could suffer malnutrition, get really bad health problems, and die a painful death as a direct result of fasting.

It will even tell you that you may die after 3 days without water.

Make no mistake - this is mostly hogwash and a fantastic example of how big tech companies in kahoots with "health" industry agendas are excellent at getting everyone to believe in stupid myths that simply aren't true and never were.

Nevermind that suffering malnutrition, getting really bad health problems and dying a painful death can also happen as a direct result of an extended hospital stay.

Or by just eating fast food regularly.

And nevermind that the two "scientists" in 1944 who supposedly did the "study" on how long you can go without water were eating food while they were doing it and DIDN'T DIE or even get anywhere close to dying after 3 or 4 days.

The example is laughable because two guys deciding to stop drinking water hardly constitutes the definition of a proper scientific study.

For that, you'd need A LOT more subjects and the proper testing equipment and facilities.

And it should go without saying that you wouldn't really know how long someone could go without water before dying until they actually died.

Which would put a big damper on the study.

That said, there are thousands of documented cases of normal people going without any food or water for 7 days or more.

Now I'm not gonna tell you that its safe for you to do the same thing.

After all, I have no idea what your underlying health conditions are and those definitely play a factor. Dry fasting probably isn't a good way to get relief for certain conditions.

But what I will tell you is that a healthy person under normal conditions can defiitely go a week without food and water and not only live, but be far healthier for it as long as they're careful to follow strict guidelines.

You can read all about it in August Dunning's books The Phoenix Protocol and Neogenesis.

If you go to his Youtube channel, there are plenty of comments from people who have tried dry fasting and experienced great benefits from it.

I myself am nearly 21 hours in to my first dry fast as I write this with no food and water whatsoever and I FEEL GREAT.

But the idea of dry fasting may not be appealing to you, especially in the beginning if you've never done any kind of fasting before.

So let's talk about how I got started with fasting and what I did.

My First Water Fast

The first time I fasted it was just with water and it only lasted about 4 days.

I was 27 years old at the time and had no idea what I was doing.

I wasn't following any kind of protocol other than not eating and only drinking water.

I went into the desert and stayed in a little casita without electricity or running water.

It started off well enough.

In fact, I started having some pretty profound spiritual experiences and rush of creativity starting on the first day.

But several days in I noticed my stomach acid was acting up and my mouth started tasting like bile.

I stayed the course and went the full 4 days.

When I finally broke my fast with a simple vegetable broth, nothing had ever tased so good in my life!

But I was not in a hurry to try it again.

The Juice Cleanse

My second experience of fasting was with a juice cleanse.

I discovered it because a woman I was in a relationship with was telling me all about how she used to to cure her heavy metal poisoning, so I got curious about it and asked her what she did.

She followed a procedure developed by Dr. Richard Schulze that lasts anywhere from a few days to more than a month and here's what it involves:

  • Giving yourself one or more enemas when you start to make it less uncomfortable in the beginning
  • Making a fresh, raw juice consisting of 4 apples, 4 carrots, 4 sticks of celery, 1 beet, and a thumb-sized piece of ginger about 5 times per day
  • Drinking a mineral broth once a day made by boiling potato skins, dark leafy greens, garlic, celery and hot peppers (to keep your potassium levels up)
  • Taking daily doses of wormwood extract and black walnut extract to kill parasites
  • drinking apple cider vinegar to make your blood more alkaline and kill microbes

I did all of this for two weeks.

Lo and behold, when I finally started eating food again, I ejected a GIANT tapeworm that basically filled up the entire toilet bowl.

It was a crazy experience.

I even got light headed and passed out briefly on the floor of the bathroom before it happened.

Prior to that, I was dealing with horrible chronic rashes where my skin would break out for weeks.

I also had a lot of gas and bloating.

It was very painful and sometimes I couldn't even sleep.

Ever since then, no more rashes!

I was so amazed at the results, I undertook two more juice cleanses later on - one for 21 days and another for 40 days.

I never experienced passing out or ejecting more parasites, but each time I did the cleanses I lost more than 10 pounds and felt worlds better afterwards.

So that's why I'm a believer!

My Fasting Philosophy Now

After reading the Phoenix Protocol and Neogenesis books by August Dunning and watching some of his YouTube videos, I'm conviced that dry fasting is worth trying.

I'm so convinced, in fact, that I started my first dry fast right now and recently ordered all the supplements from his website.

It makes a lot of sense to me, especially after my experience with my first water fast, that dry fasting would actually be easier and more beneficial than fasting with liquids.

It's a little scary and sure, there are risks.

But there are risks to NOT doing it too and in my case, I believe there is a greater risk for me in never trying it and developing serious health problems because I never do it than there is in trying it and experiencing serious health problems because I tried it.

I haven't completed my first dry fast yet, but I'm about 21 hours in and I love it!

I may only go one day, possibly multiple days more if I feel so inclined, but even just one day feels amazing.

I'll update this article once I complete my first dry fast and let you know how it goes.

UPDATE #1: In the middle of the first night after I started the fast, I was pretty restless. I kept waking up in a start. This might have been because of a thunderstorm that was happening. The lightning strickes were quite loud and sudden. It may have had nothing to do with the fast, but it's work mentioning.
